Septic Tank Riser & Lid Installation
Skip the digging every time the tank needs service.
How a Septic Tank Riser Works
A septic tank riser brings the access to your tank up to ground level, finished with a secure lid. When the tank needs pumping or the outlet filter needs cleaning, the lid is right there to open.
AA Septic Service installs septic tank risers and lids for homes and businesses throughout Central Indiana.
Most septic tanks are buried, and the access openings on top of the tank can sit well below the surface of the yard. A riser is an extension that fits over the tank opening and runs up to grade, where it is capped with a lid.
Why Add a Riser?
Every service on a tank without a riser starts with locating the lid and digging down to it.
What Does a Septic Tank Riser Cost?
A septic tank riser and lid at ground level starts at $250. Without a riser, locating and digging down to the tank starts at $75 and can be part of every service visit.
The final price depends on tank depth, access to the tank and the size of the system. We provide clear pricing and explain costs before work begins.
Questions About Septic Tank Risers
Can a riser be added when my tank is pumped?
Yes. The lid is already uncovered for the pump-out, which makes it a good time to add one. Ask about it when you schedule your pumping.
Will the lid be visible in my yard?
Yes. The lid sits at ground level so it can be found and opened without digging, which is the point of a riser.
How do I know if my tank already has risers?
If you can see the tank lids at the surface of your yard, you likely have risers already. If nobody remembers where the tank is, it probably does not, and we can locate it for you.
