Protecting Older Homes & Properties
Homes built before the 1990s often used cast iron or vitrified clay sewer lines. Over time, these materials can corrode, crack, shift, or allow root intrusion. Many standard home inspections do not include a sewer camera evaluation.
If you are purchasing an older home or have mature trees near your sewer lines, a video inspection can provide clarity about the condition of the system before problems develop.
How the Inspection Works
Our sewer camera is a flexible cable equipped with a high-resolution camera head. It is inserted through an accessible cleanout or septic tank opening and travels through the pipeline.
As the camera moves through the line:
-
- We observe the interior condition in real time
- The distance traveled is measured
- The exact location of problems can be identified
- Video recordings can be provided when needed
Because the equipment is designed specifically for pipe inspection, most evaluations can be completed without disturbing floors, walls, or landscaping.
Septic Tank & Component Locating
Camera equipment can also assist in locating septic system components on properties where tank or line placement is unclear. This is especially useful on older properties where records are unavailable.
